A BUSINESS LETTER FOR ALGEBRA?
A parabola that pes the x-axis at x=1 and x=-6 can be written as (x-1)(x - -6), or (x+1)(x+6). FOIL those out to get x^2 + 7x + 6. You could also multiply that whole thing by any nonzero constant and you'd still have the same roots.
